Kubota Diesel Generator Broke! Repairing a Leaking Fuel Injector Pump
Living off grid always presents a challenge. Daylight Savings Time really takes it's toll on our solar energy system and we only get a few sun hours each day this time of year. So we rely on our primary backup generator to keep our battery bank topped off. We have a 4 cylinder Kubota V1305-E engine that drives a Kohler 10Kw generator and it has been pretty reliable, but it does need to be maintained. This engine uses a Zexel injector pump and when the pump starts leaking it can cost hundreds of dollars at a pump shop to fix it. This is a relatively common problem and you can fix it yourself with a couple dollars for some new o-rings.
